What metadata removed

Only location data is removed — every other EXIF field (camera, exposure, dates) survives.

Field	What it reveals
`GPSLatitude` / `GPSLongitude`	Your position, usually to within a few meters — enough to pick out a specific house on a map
`GPSAltitude`	Elevation above sea level; combined with coordinates it can distinguish which floor of a building you were on
`GPSTimeStamp` / `GPSDateStamp`	The exact UTC moment the fix was taken — proof of when you were there, independent of the camera clock
`GPSProcessingMethod`	How the fix was obtained (GPS, cell towers, Wi-Fi) — a hint about your device and surroundings
`GPSImgDirection`, `GPSSpeed`, and the rest of the GPS IFD	Which way the camera was pointing, how fast you were moving — every remaining entry is zeroed too, nothing is skipped
XMP GPS properties	A duplicate copy of coordinates that editing software writes into XMP; tools that only clear EXIF leave this behind

Photography forums. Keep the EXIF that proves your settings; drop the coordinates.
